Penn National Gaming DATA SCIENCE MANAGER in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Penn Interactive is looking for an experienced Data Manager to drive our best-in-class online/mobile real money casino and social casinio, Hollywood Casino.com. The Manager, Data Science & Analytics drives results across user acquisition, retention and monetization for games by both providing the analysis and insights, developing tools to visualize key performance indicators
The Manager will oversee KPI reporting, performance forecasting, behavioral analysis and predictive modeling. The work will include: data-driven development of game mechanics, deep-dive data studies, and experimental test design that drives key product the Managers, Finance and other internal business partners to evaluate how our customers are playing our games and make informed decisions in Product, Marketing, and CRM.
Your daily responsibilities include
Own and advance the business intelligence infrastructure and processes of Penn Interactive (data management, reporting, dashboards and visualization capabilities)
Drive automation of reporting tools, both internally developed and from our third-party partners
Develop a data strategy that aggregates multiple data sources into business insights as needed by the business, marketing, and product teams
Work with Penn vendors and internal teams to create standardized reports to increase analytical efficiency
Act as the “source of truth” for all data requests
Drive the development of data driven decision making tools
Develop executive dashboards leveraging available data sources
Create models for customer acquisition and LTV
Work closely with user acquisition team to optimize marketing spend
Work with marketing and product team to design experiments to test player behavior hypotheses
Perform exploratory analyses to better understand our customers and effect on our marketing programs
Produce actionable insights from quantitative and qualitative data
Ensure data integrity with gaming platform and other reports
Experienced sharing insights with executive leadership regularly
Provide regular, timely reporting and performance monitoring to key business stakeholders
Identify areas of improvement and work with product management and product development to implement strategies to address key problem areas
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set
University degree in Data Science, Mathmatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or related field
4+ years of experience in data science and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on qualitative analysis
An ability to embrace an environment that moves quickly, iterates rapidly and celebrates failure as much as success
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Experience with turning large amounts of raw data into actionable intelligence that is critical for business decisions
Expertise with database query/reporting tools including SQL, Hive, Tableau, Mode, Vertica, Snowflake, Qlikview, Teradata, Redshift, STATA, R, Python, ggplot etc.
Experience with App data platforms such as Amplitude/Upsight/Firebase, Adjust/Appsflyer/Tune, Singular, Sensor Tower, Appfigures, Yesmail, Zendesk
Experience and/or passion for iGaming (iCasino, Sports betting, social casino).
Experience with social, free-to-play mobile games and game mechanics, and video games.
