An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
Your daily responsibilities include
Operate general equipment, such as; tractors, horse ambulance and pick up trucks, for the purpose of maintaining Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course grounds in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength and compliance goals.
Prepare your equipment for use each day and make proper equipment changes according to the weather.
Releases brake, shifts gears, and depresses accelerator or moves throttle to control forward and backward movement of tractor.
Steers tractor by turning steering wheel and depressing brake pedals.
Prepare track, paddock and barn areas for racing by watering, harrowing, floating, fixing washouts, placing pipes and cones when and wherever necessary to ensure proper training and racing conditions are met.
Must maintain the speed, when operating equipment that will ensure the safety of the horses and riders.
Open and close track gates for other tractor drivers.
Check equipment for proper function after each shift.
Clean equipment (inside and out), make any minor adjustments and return equipment to their proper station each night and report anything more than a minor problem to your leader.
Shovel the board and outside fence.
Pass any information as to the condition of the track onto your leader and/or department manager.
Assist with the loading and unloading of the injured horses when requested by maintaining radio contact with the Stewarts. Verify working condition of the radios before the first race.
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set
Less than high school education; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to read a level and surveyor's scope.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must have valid PA drivers license with a clean record.
Must qualify for the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission license.

Must be flexible, and willing to work overtime and during adverse weather conditions.
