Penn Interactive (PI) is an interactive gaming company headquartered in Philadelphia. As such, PI is looking for a VP of People and Culture to guide our team through a period of rapid growth and change.

Penn Interactive is seeking a VP, People and Culture to direct the company’s strategic organizational growth and to lead a forward-thinking, trusted and well-rounded People Operations program that engages our company values as we scale. Working in close partnership with the PI Leadership team, the VP of People and Culture will establish the foundation and systems for a high-performance, employee-focused culture. The core function is to build a broad-based Human Resources support system, including strategic organizational planning, learning and development programs, performance and employee relations management, full cycle recruiting and more. The ideal candidate is a people and outcomes-focused leader that will strategically leverage HR processes and functions to bolster organizational success.

Your daily responsibilities include

  • Organizational Planning Develop scalable systems to advise leaders across the company on organizational design, competency models, leadership development, performance measurement, succession planning, skill-gaps, and change management

  • Culture and Engagement Define and lead culture initiatives, educate, measure, and drive adoption via performance management and incentive programs . Our culture is important to us as we grow

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Must have a proven HR generalist background that has experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives

  • Has experience leading diverse Human Resource programs that support the business strategy and provide long-term value to both the company and its stakeholders

  • Experience working in a high-growth technology and product business a plus

  • Worked with senior leadership in influencing, driving, and supporting business strategy & HR priorities

  • Managing company culture and workplace experience while driving team member engagement

The individual we are seeking has or will be:

  • Solid general business sense and knowledge of functions and operations outside the HR function.

  • Demonstrated courage to always do what’s right and who will serve as a role model for operating with unwavering integrity and candor.

  • Strong understanding of HR disciplines including recruitment/staffing, benefits, employee relations, diversity, HR administration, employee engagement, employment law, and all areas of HR compliance (EEO, ADA, FMLA etc.).

  • Proven ability to drive accountability and execute against tight deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication & strong presentation skills

  • A self-motivated, results driven, collaborative team player with the ability to instill values and influence behavior within an organization

  • Effective and disciplined project management skills

  • An ability to identify, attract, develop and motivate an HR team by establishing high standards, communicating effectively and providing feedback & coaching

  • A well-balanced leader who can roll up his/her sleeves and focus on the details and also grasp and support the big picture


  • Responsible for staff development and training programs

  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement

  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees with regards to performance

  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs

  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow

  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling)
