An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
Your daily responsibilities include
Follow quality standards and menu specifications to prepare and cook foods
Report any spoilage or shortage to management immediately
Prepare foods per standardized recipes
Prepare plated menu items as ordered, per specifications on hot food production line with strict attention to detail, speed and accuracy
Must have knowledge of soups, sauces, quantity cooking, and proper food sanitation and handling
Perform well under pressure, meeting production schedules and fulfilling requisitions in a timely manner
Maintain work station and all storage areas in accordance with NJ Department of Health Standards
Complete assigned shift by properly storing all perishable foods and reporting to management for closing details
Responds to servers’ questions about recipes and cooking techniques
Assist in menu development and costing
Practices safe food handling procedures and monitors staff in this area
Responsible for overall cleanliness of the kitchen and periodic maintenance of equipment
Correctly sets up, operates, breaks down and cleans all kitchen equipment; Cleans and sanitizes all work areas
Follows proper safety and sanitation practices
Essential Duties Relative to Performance Review:
Provide professional representation at internal and external meetings and events
Demonstrate abilities to meet performance expectations with Communications, Initiative/Problem Solving, Guest Service/Interpersonal Relations, Work Habits and Conduct, and Responsible Gaming/Business Ethics
Ensure interactions with internal and external guests follow the guidelines of the “Red Carpet Service Customer” Program
The person in this role has no supervisory responsibilities; however, in the absence of a supervisor, they may be asked to:
Answer routine questions from co-workers
Lead completion of daily tasks within the department or work unit
Interact with others when necessary to achieve desired outcomes
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set
Culinary degree preferred; 1 - 3 years of previous relevant experience required
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions
Must have the ability to perform basic math skills
Must have the ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions
