Your daily responsibilities include

  • Assists the Director and Specialist in formulating and delivering training programs, based upon knowledge of identified organizational training needs.

  • Organizes and develops training material to include, manuals, reference library, multimedia visual aides, and other educational materials in conjunction with the Staff Development directorate.

  • Works with the Director and the Specialist in establishing project deadlines, and sets timeframes in the instructional design process; including needs analysis, task inventory, and development of course and instructional objectives.

  • With inputs and recommendations from the Department Heads, schedules training courses per the Master Training Schedule.

  • Maintains training records, prepares statistical reports, and monitors progress of training.

  • Ensures employee training records are maintained and up to date.

  • As senior member of the Activities Committee, plans, coordinates, schedules, and executes employee functions to include team building/fun activities such as Company picnics, employee of the month programs, celebrations, etc.

  • Publishes employee/organizational news worthy articles in approved Company publications per the periodicity schedule

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

  • An Associate’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university and two years relevant Human Resource experience. Must have advanced training or working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, and office products. Background in teaching, events planning, and with strong oral and written communication ability is recommended.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional trade journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executive level managers, managers and supervisors and general employee population.

  • Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
