Your daily responsibilities include
Contributes to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities.
Supports line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirement in line with the function/business strategy
Facilitates long-term initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic agenda
Provides advice and coaching to team members when appropriate.
Completely understands client group operations and anticipate their needs and concerns.
Assists the client group leader to provide team members with development opportunities and ensure they are able to meet current and future performance standards.
Reviews and benchmarks the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives.
Identifies and drives the communication and sharing of best practices across business partner lines to facilitate continuous quality improvement.
Identifies new opportunities where HR can add value to the business.
Maintains a strong knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends.
Manages projects and initiatives to meet department/company objectives and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
Develops and promote feedback mechanisms for team members to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes.
Acts as a liaison between team members and HR to ensure the HR services are aligned with internal client needs.
Develops reports and other key metrics including but not limited to the annual Human Resources Strategic Logics and Strategic Plan.
Attends client group meetings and provides human resources updates and feedback.
Ensures that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the company.
Interviews, hires, and trains team members. Plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and corrects performance issues; addresses complaints and resolves issues.
Develops and manages HR operating budget.
Utilizes effective communication tools to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided through the shifts.
Ensures that staff behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.
Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff. Maintains harmony among staff and resolves grievances.
Participates in meetings and training as required.
Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.
Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.
Monitors, evaluates, and develops strategies and practices to address potential areas of conflict among managers, team members, and departments.
Educates and coaches managers and team members on business and HR processes, policies, effective practices, and systems.
Provides guidance and counsel to management concerning corrective actions, terminations, and other team member problems and issues; ensures compliance with governmental laws and regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Conducts investigations of team member complaints of the client department and handles grievances and arbitrations if applicable.
Assists in the handling of unemployment compensation claims.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position supervises HR staff including but not limited to: HR Administrator; Benefits Administrator; HR Specialist; Sr. HR Specialist
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
Must have prior experience in high volume recruiting, experience developing and leading HR teams with a business partner model and prior experience with property/company openings
Must have experience working in a union environment and taken part in negotiations with the union
Strong analytical skills, accounting and good understanding human resources
Ability to research and gather data from internet and other sources, compile information, and prepare reports
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
Extensive knowledge of principles, theories, and practice of human resources management
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
Candidates with the following skills or experience are preferred but not required
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR Management or related field preferred
Professional in Human Resources Certificate preferred.
5 or more years of experience as a human resources generalist OR 5 or more years of experience in at least 2 HR specialty areas, such as recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and training OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
