Penn National Gaming Preventative Maintenance (PM) Room Mechanic - Days in Black Hawk, Colorado

An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

Your daily responsibilities include

  • Performing preventative maintenance on hotel guestrooms which includes:

  • Replace air filters on hotel guestroom ac/heat equipment.

  • Touch-up wood work in guest rooms including base boards, doors, furniture and any other woodwork.

  • Inspect carpeting for defects, stains.

  • With the assistance of the carpenter replace any damaged furniture that needs repair or is not in the proper condition to meet hotel standards.

  • Check room safes for proper operation and replace as needed.

  • Check refrigerator for proper operation and replace as needed.

  • Replacing burned out light bulbs.

  • Checking door locks for proper operation and reporting back to the locksmith of any inoperable ones.

  • Checking walls and ceilings for any damage.

  • Checking bathroom fixtures for proper operation including faucets, toilets and shower heads.

  • Generate work orders for any defects that have been found.

  • Will coordinate with the hotel front desk team on a daily basis to pull rooms for preventative maintenance.

  • Working as part of a team you must be willing and able to help out in other areas of the Facilities department when needed.

  • This is a uniformed position, which requires that Team Members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty.

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to issues

  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization

  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented

  • 1 year facilities maintenance experience in hospitality or related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Basic handyman skills.

  • Must have great inter-personal skills as there may be guest contact involved.
