Summary: The Director of Planning & Analysis will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial planning and budgeting responsibilities, reporting to the VP of Finance & Treasurer. This position will work extensively with senior management of the company and with the leadership teams of the business units by performing the following duties.

Your daily responsibilities include

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Overall responsibility for the company’s annual budgeting process. This includes the preparation and communication of key budget assumptions, coordination of the preparation of budget templates, communication of all budget instructions, coordination of the consolidation of the budget, and preparation of the budget presentation to the Board of Directors.

Responsible for the preparation of the company’s consolidated quarterly forecasts from the business units for Wall Street guidance.

Business and financial analysis of significant capital projects. Review of business need and rationale. Assist in the development and review of proforma economics supporting the project.

Assist in the development of pro forma financial analysis of M&A candidates and review of strategic and tactical rationale for the acquisitions.Involved in presentation of the deal to the CEO, COO, Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.

Development of key metrics by which to measure performance of the company’s business units.

Assist with monthly board updates and forecasts.

Assist with external communications with the financial community as required.

Assist in external financings as required. This may include equity, public debt or private debt placements as well as bank financing.

Perform special projects for the CFO and COO as requested.

Education and/or Experience:

Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance with seven to ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good understanding of financial accounting and reporting under GAAP and SEC requirements. Some knowledge of tax accounting is helpful. Experience in managing budgeting and forecasting processes for multi-unit company or division. Experience in analyzing M&A transactions.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively with research analysts, institutional investors and brokers. Ability to present to large groups.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, algebra, geometry and calculus. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with situations involving multiple variables where only limited standardization exists. Ability to offer ideas to senior management that will add value to the organization.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint software applications and the capability of building advancedExcel macros.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Skill in performing financial analysis, including development of pro forma P&L,and ROI analysis.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization and the investment community.

Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously.
