Your daily responsibilities include:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary for multi properties in the Tunica area, including Hollywood Casino Tunica, and/or Resorts Casino:

  • Develop and maintain sales collateral, facilitate catering pricing schedules and terms for banquet space, and establish group packages for the Tunica properties.

  • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Banquet/Catering department. Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives

  • Establish sales goals across business areas and closed-loop reporting systems.

  • Iteratively implement strategies to accomplish objectives, based on assessment of market needs and competition.

  • Act as company lead for sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings.

  • Assists clients with any problems or special requests to ensure the best personal service to meet guests' needs.

  • Coordinate with Food and Beverage department and A/V suppliers to fulfill customer programs.

  • Develop and book group packages for non-banquet business.

  • Develop network of partnerships for hotel and transportation services that can be recommended to prospective customers.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Prepare, implement, compile and analyze data for the strategic sales plan, annual goals, sales department budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.

  • Record deposits, forward checks to Accounting and coordinate billing and credit approval for Banquet/Catering clients.

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop rates and business strategies through review of competitive data, to maximize revenue across property.

  • Prepare correspondence to customers, and represent Penn Gaming in the community at Association meetings, community/social events, trade shows and industry functions.

  • Handle customer complaints and support all customer service programs.

  • Understand and adhere to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures.

  • Develop and maintain outstanding rapport with the Marketing department, other departments and guests.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. Required to travel.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or five plus years of related experience in hospitality (hotel, convention or gaming) sales.

  • Must possess excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of common business software such as Microsoft Office and Excel.

  • Knowledge of the greater Tunica/Memphis market preferred. Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros and Infogenysis.

  • Must successfully complete C.A.R.E or TIPS training.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Must be able to analyze and interpret sales results.

  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
